The team was founded in 2020 and is composed of low-income African refugees (primarily from East Africa) who are first generation high-school and college students.
We also consider Bowaze FC an afterschool program that helps mentor and educate
Youth boys about state and federal laws and how to be a responsible citizen. If they
have access to their passion of playing soccer then they have less time to get into
trouble. We hold players accountable. Players know how to stay on the team they
must keep good grades in school and be a good team player on and off the field.
Players learn life skills as well as soccer skills.
Our goal last year was to become a semi-professional team. In January 2025,
we successfully registered and now we are looking for sponsorship opportunities and
donations of any size. This is a huge milestone for the team, but we need financial
support to help with day-to-day operations, i.e. transportation costs, field rental costs,
jerseys, and practice equipment.
The team participates in many community events:
In October 2024 our team participated in the Pace for Peace program. The run
was about raising apartments and funds for Idaho’s refugee community. See us

We partner with the Vinyard Boise Christian Fellowship, whereas monthly they
will send out one of their pastors to meet up with the team to discuss current
issues and provide guidance.
We also partner with the African Community Development. They provide us
space to hold team meetings and events, and they call us to help staff/volunteer
for their gatherings and events.
We are always seeking opportunities for more community engagement.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will help fund our mission.
